Can You Clean A Toyota Third Member With Brakleen

Topic: What's the all-time mode to clean nasty 3rd member??  (Read 3055 times)

The 3rd member out of my 84 4Runner was pulled this by weekend.  The gear lube was nasty and kinda dark-green :reg:

What's the easiest style to clean them to get gear up to prepare some gears and lockers in them?  Car wash?  If I spray h2o in there and glaze the inside of the 3rd with WD40, would that stop the rust?

DIY carwash, then spray the within with Electronics Cleaner (no residue) they glaze with gear oil.

I like to employ a biodegradeable degreaser on all the greasy parts!  Castrol has one and about of your local parts house carries a similar house brand!  Doesn't hurt the environment and works pretty darn expert on alot of stuff!  Only makes the grease come off alot easier when you ability launder it!

I like to use a biodegradeable degreaser on all the greasy parts!  Castrol has ane and virtually of your local parts house carries a like house make!  Doesn't hurt the surroundings and works pretty darn good on alot of stuff!  Just makes the grease come off alot easier when you power wash it!

I love using the Castol regal stuff.  I buy it by the gallon.

It's just bio-degradeable before it gets mixed with the grease & oil :twocents:

paint thinner or gasoline followed by brakleen, they're not too cheap simply dissolve about anythig.
 solvent works the all-time if you lot accept access though

That's why I snag those absorbancy pads from work and take them back and dispose of them in the hazardous bin!  The castrol or house brand are the same and I utilise it for everything, including household cleaner.  Read the label! Information technology will strip off the grass residue buildup on the under the mower deck like nothing!

I know most of you are NOT in CA, only for those of you lot in CA, it is no longer fabricated by Castrol.  Hasn't been for at least a year.  Large CARB deal nearly it.  Anyway, I used lacquer thinner and a brush/putty knife, and then I used Superclean(that is the purple bottle) before the carwash.

wear gloves with the purple stuff or superclean. All the lines in my peel disappeared and the skin kinda stretched. I idea I was going to exist able to peel what was on my easily off like craven pare. scared the :pokinit: out of me. next few days my hands snagged on my g/f's apparel cause the skin was dry and flaking off.
 simply I was dunking my easily into a bucket that was undiluted super clean that I was washing parts in and immediatley rinsing in cold h2o.

a hot tank works the best simply set them in there and go eat some dejeuner and come up back and in that location all nice and shiny

I wish I could afford to go them hot-tanked.  I took an oil pan to a place and they charged me $20 for the stupid thing!  I demand to discover somebody else to accept my hot-tanked stuff to.
